Virtualization and its advantages
Virtualization of computers or operating systems enables you run more than one operating system in a single computer. In virtualization, the actual physical characteristics of the system remain hidden. Instead, the users work on virtual computers or virtual machines that are created by a virtualization program. There are many advantages for virtualization:
While virtualizing, files are saved in Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) format in a Virtual Hard Disk Drive. Just like a physical Hard Disk Drive, a Virtual Hard Disk Drive contains disk partitions, file system, folders and files.
Though virtual, VHD files are also prone to corruption like all other files. The common causes of VHD file corruption are:
Kernel for VHD recovery is a brilliant VHD recovery tool that can recover VHD files completely after an event of corruption or data loss. It scans the FAT and NTFS file systems of the virtual hard disk and recovers the corrupt, damaged or lost files. It has got three inbuilt scanning modes: Quick Scan, Extensive Scan and File Trace.
Quick Scan:It is quickest mode and is intended to deal with minor corruption problems. This mode is helpful in recovering the data lost due to damage of MFT, corruption of the file system(s), presence of bad sectors on disk and index corruption; also, it is helpful in recovering the recently deleted data.
Extensive Scan:You can employ the Extensive Scan if the Quick Scan mode fails to generate the desired results, especially in the case of data loss due to hard disk formatting, deletion of hard disk partitions, and recreation of hard disk partitions. This mode is very successful even in the case of a severe corruption of virtual hard disk.
File Trace:It is the most powerful of the three scanning modes as it offers sector by sector scanning of the hard disk. You can employ this mode to recover extremely corrupt VHD files and the files that were deleted long time back. However it is the slowest of all the three scanning modes.
Kernel for VHD Recovery is available as a trial version. The trial version, which is absolutely free, helps you understand its features and analyze its capabilities. It allows you to preview the recovered files, but limits you from saving them. To save the recovered files, you need to purchase the full version.
